HydroPure™ Deionizer System
The lowest cost source of pure battery water!
The system comes with everything you need to make your own pure water right from your own tap: a wall-mounting plate, one high-capacity Deionizer cartridge, purity light, hose hanger, quick connects and input and output hoses. Installation takes just minutes — and replacing spent cartridges takes just seconds.
Battery water should be free from metallic impurities because they can affect cell voltages and self-discharge. Also to be limited are calcium and magnesium compounds found in hard water because these may cause mossing and dendrite growth through the separators. Note that these impurities are dissolved in the water and cannot be removed by conventional filters.
Professional quality deionizers: Not just a filter, which only removes particles, but a real ion-exchange medium which electrostatically removes dissolved impurities. Purity is comparable with distilled water and ideal for batteries.
Our Deionizer system reduces the high price of buying bottled water and is more convenient as well.
How does it work?
Inside the Deionizer, tap water is passed through a cartridge containing beds of cationic and anionic resins which electrostatically remove impurities. The result is very pure water. When the cartridge becomes exhausted it is simply replaced with a fresh one.
Purity Chart
The following chart can be used to determine how many gallons of pure battery water can be obtained from one cartridge based on the purity of the incoming tap water.
Purity of Tap Water | Total Dissolved Solids | Cartridge Capacity
PPM | Grains | uS/cm | U.S. Gallons | Liters
Good | 50 | 3 | 28 | 1440 | 5,451 |
75 | 4 | 42 | 960 | 3,634 | |
Average |
100 | 6 | 56 | 720 | 2,725 |
120 | 7 | 67 | 600 | 2,271 | |
150 | 9 | 84 | 480 | 1,817 | |
Poor |
200 | 12 | 112 | 360 | 1,363 |

How much water can I purify with one cartridge?
The capacity of the cartridge is directly related to the purity of the incoming water, or TDS level. To determine what the capacity should be precisely, you must test the incoming water supply for mg/L of TDS using a testing kit.
What level of purity will be generated by the HydroPure cartridge?
The quality of water that the HydroPure produces is less than 50 ppm of dissolved solids.
Is there a shelf life of the HydroPure cartridge?
The shelf life is 5 years on the HydroPure cartridge.
I have installed the HydroPure but the purity light is flashing red, why is this?
Before first use flush through around 20 litres and then check again. If the problem persists, check if you using the flow restrictor. The Deioniser must be used with the flow restrictor to give enough contact time between the water and the resins in order that it can deionise effectively. The flow restrictor is supplied with every deioniser.
