How iBOS System and eGO! Monitors put
a total of £770K value of assets back into operation

About Client

Tesco is one of the largest and most recognisable grocery retail chains operating across the United Kingdom. Serving millions of customers weekly, the company relies on highly efficient logistics and the continuous, reliable operation of a vast fleet of industrial handling equipment to maintain its critical distribution network.

The Challenge

Mismanaged Infrastructure and Utilisation

Significant inefficiencies in battery infrastructure compounded the client’s operational issues; specifically, the charging environment was chaotic, with an entire aisle unused, intermittent use in another, and critical chargers sitting idle or broken across the facility. This lack of control resulted in highly inconsistent usage patterns, unevenly distributing the load and leading to accelerated wear, wasted capital, and a constant, unpredictable threat to fleet uptime.

Aisle 1 had intermittent use towards the end of the aisle.
The top chargers in aisle 2 were not used at all.
No usage of aisle 3

Overheating and Asset Risk

Further compounding the operational risk, we observed that batteries near the front of the aisles were frequently overheating due to the highly uneven charging load caused by underutilised aisles and broken chargers. This critical thermal stress dramatically increased the risk of catastrophic cell damage, accelerated asset failure, and introduced serious safety concerns into the warehouse environment.

Batteries close to the front of the aisle 1 were overheating.

What we achieved

Instant ROI just recovered assets

The success of the iBOS system and eGO! monitors deployment was measured both in financial recovery and physical scale. On Day One, our analysis immediately quantified the immense waste and degradation, enabling the client to put a total of £770,000 worth of high-value battery assets back into operation. This rapid intervention was made possible by identifying and restoring over 100 batteries, 100 chargers, and 100 charging positions that were previously idle, broken, or improperly cycled. This decisive action instantly reversed capital drain and brought massive capacity back online, demonstrating an exceptional and immediate Return on Investment (ROI).

Immediate Financial Impact

The previously uncontrolled operational chaos was proven to be a massive financial drain on the client's business, manifesting in both degraded assets and wasted capital. Within the first 24 hours of analysis and leveraging the battery data captured from our data products, the iBOS system and eGO! monitors, we immediately identified and facilitated the recovery of £770,000 in lost and degraded battery assets. Furthermore, our investigation quantified the hidden investment waste resulting from disorganised infrastructure, revealing that £350,000 worth of chargers and batteries were sitting idle in unused positions. In total, the service quickly uncovered over £1 million in immediate financial value by bringing visibility and control to the entire fleet operation.
