Installation Options
Semi-Assembled vs. Fully Assembled
Philadelphia Scientific has the best installation options in the business. Semi-assembled Injector kits give you the ultimate flexibility and are much faster and easier to install than other single point systems. Instant Install strings are pre-configured in our factory so we can do most of the installation work for you. You will enjoy big savings by maximizing your productivity.
Semi-Assembled
Injector systems ordered as semi-assembled come as a single string with as much of the system pre-assembled at the factory as possible without knowing the exact size of the battery it will go onto. This means that all of the parts are already on the tubing, and the input fittings are already connected.
Ordering semi-assembled systems is easy – all you need to know is how many cells there are on the battery. And once ordered, you can fit that onto any battery with the right number of cells, even if it is a very unusual battery.
To install a semi-assembled string:
* Remove vent plugs and replace with supplied adapters for Injectors * Properly route the tubing to all the cells * Adjust the spacing between Injectors by sliding them along the tubing and snap Injectors into adapters * Mark and punch holes in the tubing * Cut off excess tubing and attach terminating Injector
Tools Required: Toolkit (INJ-TK) with ¼ turn tool, Hole punch tool, Marker and tape
Instant-Install
Injector systems ordered as Instant-Install come pre-configured for the battery it is to be used on. The engineers at Philadelphia Scientific have examined the most common battery types and designed the optimum layout for that battery. This option takes all the guesswork out of installing strings and minimizes the installation time.
To use Instant-Install Injectors:
- Pick the correct layout(s) for the batteries you have, and order Injectors by layout number.
- Remove vent plugs and replace with supplied adapters for Injectors
Snap Injectors into adapters
Tools Required: ¼ turn Wrench.
Picking the right layout is a snap using the selection guide diagrams. Just look up the number of cells, the number of plates, and tray size and find the layout optimized for that battery.
