iBOS®
The Most Cost Effective Charger Management SystemThe iBOS® system with Real-Time Monitor™ is the most cost effective charger management system. It enables the efficient utilization of your pool of batteries by ensuring proper battery rotation, which is critical to long battery life and maximum run time. The Real-Time Monitor provides immediate information needed to efficiently manage the battery pool. The optional iBOSWorld website provides easy to use management information for strategic decision making and enterprize level accountability.
iBOS Benefits
Promotes longer battery run time and life through uniform usage.
Improves operator productivity.
Identifies faulty equipment.
Helps managers decide if there are too many or too few batteries in the pool.
Site tests have shown that if battery selection is left to an operator, 30% of the batteries will be underutilized and 20% will be overused. The result: uneven battery usage, premature battery failure and lost productivity. iBOS monitors all batteries in a pool and eliminates operator judgment in battery selection by determining which battery has had the longest cooling time since charging. Once charged, each battery is placed in queue. The simple-to-use iBOS “read and react” Display then tells the operator which battery to take. An audible alarm called the Shouter alerts the operator when the wrong battery is taken.
iBOS Features
Easy-to-use “read and react” system.
Large scrolling display tells forklift operators the “correct” battery to pick next. Displays are available in multiple languages.
Shouter sounds an alarm when operator takes a battery that is not fully charged, reducing mispicks.
Real-Time Monitor provides all the information needed to efficiently manage the battery pool.
Works with virtually any charger.
System Controller with Wireless Display
This version puts all of the battery selection information right on the battery changer for the operator to use. A bright touch screen display is mounted on the changer and wirelessly communicates with the system controller. The operator selects the desired battery pool with a quick touch of the screen and is told which fully charged battery to take. The Shouter is mounted to the battery rack and alerts the operator, with a loud alarm, when the wrong battery has been selected. This version includes:
- System Controller with wireless communication hardware.
- Shouter
- Wireless Display Unit

System Controller
This version allows the battery selection information to be displayed by pool on the battery rack or on the wall. Highly visible scrolling LED displays are wired to the system controller and diplay the information for the operator to use. The operator simply looks at the appropriate scrolling display for the desired pool and is told which fully charged battery to take. The Shouter is mounted to the battery rack and alerts the operator, with a loud alarm, when the wrong battery has been selected. This version includes:
- System Controller
- Shouter
Scrolling displays are purchased seperately.

Scrolling Display
Multicolor and bright scrolling LED sign tells operators which battery is to be selected next. Can display mulitple languages.
Dimensions: 24 inches by 2.5 inches.
One display required per battery pool. The displays can be mounted in one grouping or individually near each pool. Select the location that is best for visibility and operator convenience.

Sentinel™
The Sentinel™ monitors the charge condition of each battery and can be mounted on any type of conventional or high frequency charger. The Sentinel is a passive voltage monitoring device that incorporates a proprietary intelligent charge-recognition algorithm. One Sentinel is required for each charger and is individually hard wired to the System Controller.
Sentinels are voltage specific.

Real Time Monitor™
With the iBOS Real-Time Monitor, a battery room manager can use an on-site computer to continuously monitor battery selection activities. It provides information in an easy-to-understand manner, signaling the manager when one of our five alert conditions is triggered:
- Low Battery Availability
- Battery Mispick
- Short Charge Duration
- Charger Fail to Start
- Short Cool Down Time
Included with System Controller

iBOSWorld™
Through the iBOSWorld™ Web Service (www.iBOSWorld.com), management can optimize assets by analyzing battery performance and creating reports remotely on the Internet. Mispick Reports, Utilization Reports and Availability Reports help analyze asset utilization and availability and proper battery rotation while identifying faulty chargers. Most importantly the reports can verify that a battery fleet is right-sized for the facility. Data from the user’s iBOS system controller is fed daily by phone line or Ethernet connection to Philadelphia Scientific’s secure server, where it is backed up and stored for five years. iBOSWorld Web Service subscriptions are available in one-, three- and five-year plans.

How it Works
The Sentinel monitors the charge
condition of each battery and can be mounted on any type of conventional or high frequency
charger.
The Controller, the brains of the system, takes data from the
Sentinel and informs the iBOS Display of the appropriate sequence of available batteries.
The iBOS Display, a multi-color scrolling LED sign, tells operators which battery
is to be selected next. Can display multiple languages.
The Shouter
alerts operator when the wrong battery has been selected.
Real-Time
Monitor enables manager to continuously monitor battery selection activities.
