Philadelphia Scientific Improves Water Injector Spider System™  for Faster, Easier Installation

Spider System uses water Injector technology to quickly fill batteries.  Injector valves are now easier to install, saving time and money.

MONTGOMERYVILLE, Pa., June 25, 2010 – Philadelphia Scientific, a leading international manufacturer of industrial battery components and accessories, has introduced a new snap-fit base for valves used with the Water Injector Spider System™, one of the company’s single-point industrial battery watering systems. The snap-fit base eliminates the need for a separate adaptor, making installation of the Spider System faster and easier and saving time and money when installing the product.

“The new snap-fit feature is yet another appealing aspect of the Water Injector Spider System,” said Harold Vanasse, vice president of sales and marketing for Philadelphia Scientific. “The system’s tubing is very secure and its flexibility enables easier installation than other single-point systems, a benefit that has made the Spider System increasingly popular among battery room managers.”

The snap-fit base is easily installed by simply removing the vent cap from each battery cell and pushing the Spider valve into place. Once installed, the valves can be rotated as needed to enable effortless installation of the Spider System. Quarter-turn adaptors are no longer needed. The snap-fit base also reduces the height of the valve to 0.83”, which reduces risk of cable damage and keeps tubing away from battery lifting hooks.

The Water Injector Spider System uses water Injector technology to fill batteries eight times faster than with a float-based system. It is made for use on industrial batteries of any size and is ideal for smaller (5-, 7- and 9-plate) batteries where traditional watering systems are hard to fit. Small-diameter, flexible tubing is crush and kink resistant and is easy to fit onto a crowded battery top.
